Knife Skills and Maintenance Training Provided to Gastronomy Students at BUBFA
The “Knife Skills and Maintenance” training, organized by the Gastronomy Club of Balıkesir University Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA), was held with strong participation from students.
The session was delivered by a representative from Samur Bıçak, one of the leading brands in the knife industry, and attracted great interest from both students and the faculty administration. The program provided comprehensive information on the proper use, maintenance, and storage techniques of knives—one of the most essential tools in professional kitchens.
Held at the Şehit Savcı Mehmet Selim Kiraz Conference Hall, the training offered both theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations, allowing students to gain hands-on experience. The company representative also presented small gifts to participants, adding excitement to the event.
Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Oğuzhan İlban emphasized the importance of such practical training sessions for students and stated that BUBFA will continue to organize hands-on educational programs in the coming periods. At the end of the event, Prof. Dr. İlban presented a certificate of appreciation to the Samur Bıçak representative for their valuable contribution.
The program concluded with a group photo session.
