The mission of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts is to provide practice-based education in gastronomy, culinary arts, and food and beverage management in line with national and international standards; to educate creative, innovative, and ethically responsible professionals; to conduct scientific research that contributes to the preservation and development of gastronomic culture; to enhance students’ professional competencies through strong industry collaboration; and to contribute to social and regional development through a sustainable gastronomy perspective.

History
The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts was established within the Burhaniye School of Applied Sciences and commenced its educational activities in the 2021–2022 academic year. Pursuant to Article 30 (Additional) of Law No. 2809 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, published in the Official Gazette dated March 4, 2022, the Burhaniye School of Applied Sciences was transformed into the Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA) by the Presidential Decree. Following this transformation, the department has continued to admit students under the Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences since the 2022–2023 academic year.
