World Cuisines Are Being Taught to Balıkesir University Students
Students of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of Balıkesir University Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA) are being taught how to prepare sample dishes from world cuisines.
In addition to learning Turkish cuisine in the best way, practical training continues so that students can also learn international cuisines.
In the Burhaniye district of Balıkesir, university students are being taught world cuisines. Students of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of Balıkesir University Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA) are taught how to prepare sample dishes from world cuisine. Practical trainings continue so that students can learn world cuisine as well as learn Turkish cuisine in the best way.
Within this scope, the students, who learned the subtleties of Italian cuisine and presented examples, most recently prepared dishes from French cuisine with the training they received.
The dishes prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Emel Memiş Kocaman, a faculty member of the BUBFA Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, and Lecturer Nihat Pekbay were presented for tasting in the Faculty Kitchen to Dean Prof. Dr. M. Oğuzhan İlban, Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor Hüseyin Tuncel, who was staying as a guest at the BUBYO Practice Hotel, and other guests.
Dean İlban said, “We are working with all our strength to ensure that our students studying at our faculty continue their education in the best way. In this context, we provide opportunities for our students in the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department to learn world cuisines in addition to Turkish cuisine. For this, we have a very good kitchen and equipment.”
İlban stated that in addition to the theoretical courses they take during their education, students also receive practical courses in the school kitchen, and thanked the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students for their skills in the practical course.
