Famous Local Brand Aslanboğa Kokoreç Meets Students at BUBFA
The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA) hosted an unforgettable culinary experience. Organized by the BUBFA Gastronomy Club, the event featured Erdal Aslanboğa, the founder of one of Balıkesir’s most beloved local brands, Aslanboğa Kokoreç, who met with students at the Balıkesir Gastronomy Training Kitchen.
During the session, Erdal Aslanboğa demonstrated the preparation techniques of kokoreç through a hands-on workshop, guiding students step by step in the wrapping and cooking stages. Sharing the historical background, preparation methods, and flavor secrets of kokoreç, he also inspired students with his own entrepreneurial journey, emphasizing the importance of quality, patience, and passion in transforming a traditional street food into a refined gourmet experience.
The event also welcomed Mehmet Ali Tınas, Operations Manager of Aslanboğa Kokoreç, who provided valuable insights about the sector and business operations. This interactive workshop allowed students to observe the production process up close and taste the dishes firsthand, combining both educational and enjoyable moments.
At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. M. Oğuzhan İlban, Dean of the Faculty, presented a plaque of appreciation to Erdal Aslanboğa for his valuable contributions to the event.
