District Governor İlyas Memiş Attended the BUBFA Ashura Charity Event
Burhaniye District Governor İlyas Memiş attended the ashura event organized by the Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA) and served ashura prepared by the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students to the participants. By taking part in the event, District Governor Memiş showed support to both the students and the attendees.
During the event, Memiş stood by the large pot of ashura prepared by the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students and personally served the dessert to participants.
Also present at the event were Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. M. Oğuzhan İlban, Garrison Commander Artillery Major Yusuf Kaya, District Gendarmerie Commander Major Ünal Bayhan, District Police Chief Faik Karabaş, Chief Physician of the State Hospital Specialist Dr. Evren Akgöl, along with academic staff and students.
Participants gathered on the occasion of the ashura event, conveying messages of unity and solidarity while also offering moral support to the students. In addition to the ashura distribution, other foods prepared by the students were also well received by the attendees.
District Governor İlyas Memiş thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the event and emphasized that such activities strengthen the sense of unity and togetherness in society. Memiş stated, “Keeping our traditional values alive and coming together through such events is a great source of happiness for us.”
