BUBYO Students Met with Doğuş Group Executives
Under the coordination of the BUBYO Alumni Employment Office, the “Industry–Student Meeting” event was held at Balıkesir University Burhaniye School of Applied Sciences (BUBYO). The event hosted Mr. Reşat Doğantez, General Manager of D-Resort Murat Reis Ayvalık, Mr. Tahir Tohumcu, Food and Beverage Department Service Manager, and Ms. Aslı Akdağ, Human Resources Manager, as guest speakers.
The event, which attracted great interest from Prof. Dr. Mehmet Oğuzhan İlban, Director of BUBYO, Lecturer Fatih Çolakoğlu, Deputy Director responsible for events, Asst. Prof. Dr. Oğuzhan Dulgaroğlu, Coordinator of the BUBYO Alumni Employment Office, as well as faculty members and students, provided an opportunity for students to satisfy their curiosity about the private sector.
During the session, General Manager Reşat Doğantez gave insights into the importance of internships in professional life and explained the internship requirements for university students. Human Resources Manager Aslı Akdağ informed students about the operations and principles of D-Resort Murat Reis Ayvalık through both visual and verbal presentations. Service Manager Tahir Tohumcu discussed the expectations of the tourism industry from students and shared professional advice on career development.
In the job interview segment of the event, students filled out application forms provided by the guest speakers and later had one-on-one meetings with the industry representatives. Following a lively Q&A session, where students had the chance to ask their questions about the sector, the event concluded with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Oğuzhan İlban presenting Certificates of Appreciation to the guest speakers.
Addressing the students during the closing, Prof. Dr. İlban stated:
“First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Reşat, Ms. Aslı, and Mr. Tahir for taking the time to share their valuable experiences with us. I find such events very important in strengthening BUBYO’s collaboration with the industry. These events will continue in the future.”
