In the district of Burhaniye in Balıkesir, an Ashura charity event was organized at the School of Applied Sciences.
The event was attended by Chief Public Prosecutor Hüseyin Tuncel, District Police Chief Tuncay Orhan, District Director of National Education Ferhan Levent, Treasury Director Mustafa Ak, BUBYO academic staff, and university students.
Director of Burhaniye School of Applied Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Oğuzhan İlban, stood by the cauldron and served ashura to the guests and students. Thanking the guests, Director İlban said, “The tenth day of the month of Muharram is the Day of Ashura. The month of Muharram is one of the four months that are valued in the Holy Qur’an. The most valuable night of this month is also the night of Ashura. Allah the Almighty has accepted many prayers on this day. May our Ashura Day be blessed, may our Hijri year be blessed, and may the month of Muharram be auspicious. I thank everyone who participated in our charity.”
